Sharon Stott - Just a couple of points assuming you are who you say you are with the same property in mind. It is as simple as this, I was in the hunt for a home in the area quickly, I found your parents home and they wanted to sell quickly. Having met your parents at the first viewing they liked us, and explained they had been messed around a bit with ridiculous offers earlier in the year. I told them I was in a position and could comfortably meet the asking price. Within the space of a few days I had organised the second viewing and DP were well aware I was prepared to offer the asking price. My builder was even coming so I could allocate his time for quick fixes I had noticed such as in the bathroom etc due to the speed we could move. Of course, it is your choice whom you sell your parents home to, but as potential buyer I was not provided with any reasonable explanation at the time as to why our higher offer of 30k would be rejected. Only 30 minutes before the second viewing it was cancelled via DP due to the house being just sold. I still went to see your parents property and they appeared disappointed that my young family was not to purchase their beloved family home (your words) and explained the offer accepted was 30k lower than the asking price. With all their memories they seemed to care whom their family home was going to. Surely us bidding for the property is a service a good agency should have facilitated the best deal for the sellers. From our point of view, it just felt it was poorly handled at the time. I had expected my offer to have been put forward, DP to have started a bidding war with 2 promising buyers in the frame. Perhaps not allowing Drighlington Properties to sell one of my properties upon my first contact with them had some influence on this outcome! Thanks to boards like this Buyers / Sellers can make their own informed decisions. For these reasons it is still a 1 star for the service I received at the time as a purchaser new to the area.
Moving house can be fraught with ups and downs but if you found yourself in a tricky situation you could not ask for a better agent to help you through it. These people are transparent, professional, full of integrity, and go the extra mile. I couldn't recommend Drighlington Properties enough. Thanks Ladies
We would highly recommend Rachel and her team, they recently sold our parents beloved family home and were nothing but professional, approachable and always patient with the many questions asked :) slightly bemused by seeing the 1 star review as believe this may be regarding the same property but with very different views of the situation, we as a family made the decision to choose the best option for our parents regardless of monetary gain and without influence from the agents who as I state would definitely recommend especially as they made what is a very difficult time run extremely smoothly. Thank you
Would not recommend this business to purchase or sell a property through. Upon seeing the for sale sign we popped into a property in Drighlington to ask the owners their situation whom were looking to sell for health reasons. Upon going on my second viewing I was advised the house had sold and it would be a waste of time viewing. They clearly knew I could put in an offer for the asking price at least (Cash if needed). The sellers of the property were told we lost interest and they took a lower offer of 30,000 less than we were about to offer. We lost out on a house, the vulnerable sellers lost out of 30,000 and sold well below asking price. A week later we went up the road and used Barkers and purchased a house for an higher amount in the end. Not a professional service.
The Ladies at Drighlington Properties were extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. When it came to marketing my house communications were clear and dealt with promptly. You will always be in the picture dealing with this company. Thank you so much for your services, would highly recommend and will use again.
I cant recommend Drighlington Properties enough. Steph and staff were so helpful and friendly. Brilliant service!
